Remarks: Yersinia enterocolitica is transmited by pigs, goats, dogs and cats thought milk or infected meat. The symptoms are mesenteric lymphadenitis with abdominal pain, gastroenteritis and diarrhaea. In certain cases arthritis may occur so yersiniosis must be considered when differential diagnosis of rheumatic and collagen diseases is assessed.
