Range: Up to 55 ng/mL
Remarks: Thyroglobulin levels are elevated in goiter and thyroid hyperfunction, inflammation or physical injury of the thyroid, and thyroid tumors. Patients with thyroid cancer who have no remaining thyroid tissue, following surgery and/or irradiation, would be expected no to have any Thyroglobulin in serum. High Thyroglobulin levels are commonly found in tumor dissemination.
