Remarks: Chlamydia trachomatis is the causative agent of neonatal conjunctivitis and non febrile pneumonia. About 50% of children from mothers with C. trachomatis infection of the cervix will be infected and develop conjunctivitis and/or a respiratory tract infection that produces pneumonia syndrome. C. trachomatis is one of the caudes of non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU), cervicitis , salpingitis and lymphogranuloma venereum.
