Remarks: Ceruloplasmin is the copper carrier protein and is used in the differential diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis (in combination with mitochondria antibody AMA), cirrhois and other liver disease (increased ceruloplasmin levels). Increased values are found in certain autoimmune disorders (SLE, rheumatoid arthritis). Also is useful in evaluating neurological disorders with problems of coordiantion
