Remarks: Anti mitochondria antibodies (AMA) test is used in the diagnosis of Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. Both Chronic Acute Hepatitis and Primary Biliary Cirrhosis have many overlapping immunologic features and may represent a continuum of a single disease entity. Anti Mitochondria levels in Primary Biliary Cirrhosis do not have correlation with the clinical activity or progression of the disease.
