Remarks: The method of measurement of serum albumin has a major effect on the interpretation of differences between centres and changes with time. Labs using BCP have lower serum albumins. This is most apparent within the peritoneal dialysis population, in whom the albumin concentrations overall are significantly lower than by BCG (units varying between 3.3 and 3.7 g/dL).
